MIDDLE GRADES INTERVENTIONS AND SUPPORT
BiographyOriginally from Maine, Mr. Falls served in the 82nd Airborne Division from 2004-2008. After completing his enlistment, he attended Methodist University in Fayetteville, where he graduated in December 2012 with a BA in Global Studies. Mr. Falls was admitted into the 2013 Teach for America Eastern North Carolina corps. He served in TFA for two years teaching 8th grade language arts and coaching high school swimming in Clinton, North Carolina. After completing his service, he joined TCEA for the 2015-2016 school year.
Mr. Falls, is an inductee into the Fayetteville Observer’s “40 Under 40” class of 2017. Mr. Falls is the recipient of an educator’s grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. He spent most of the summer of 2014 in Maine and Canada recording oral histories in Acadian-French communities for the Maine Humanities Council, and he spent the summer of 2013 teaching remedial 7th grade language arts to students in the Mississippi Delta. Mr. Falls was voted the 2015-2016 teacher of the year at TCEA, and along with Mrs. Brownlee, Mr. Falls is a North Carolina Museum of Art Fellow in the Collaborative Teaching Fellowship program for the 2017-2018 school year.
